Applications for 2020 Miss Snake Charmer Pageant Available Monday; Scholarship Amounts Increased

The 61st annual Sweetwater Jaycees Miss Snake Charmer Scholarship Pageant is a time where young ladies from throughout the Big Country come together to compete for scholarship money. The annual pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium.
The pageant is open to all girls between the ages of 16-19 who live within a 60 mile radius of Sweetwater.
A total of $2,500 will be awarded to Miss Snake Charmer while $1,000 will be presented to the first runner-up. The second runner-up will receive $800 and the talent competition winner will receive $700. A total of $5,000 will be awarded this year.
Applications will be available on Monday , January 20 at local high schools or by contacting Laura Gilbert at 338-2713. The deadline to enter the pageant is Sunday, February 16. The competitions will include talent, evening gown and casual wear this year. Prior to the pageant, contestants will be involved in several events and practices.
The tea is Sunday, February 16 at The Center at TSTC. Media Day is Friday, February 28.
