Bealls encourages shoppers to purchase a ‘Bear That Cares’ to benefit Toys For Tots

Bealls is spreading a little holiday cheer while giving back to the community this festive season through the sale of their holiday themed ‘Bears that Care’ plush bears to benefit Toys for Tots. The plush brown and tan bears, adorned with a satin ribbon, retail for $6.98 and from now until Dec. 24, Stage Stores Inc., the parent company of Bealls, will donate $1 from the sale of each bear to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Bears are available for purchase in-stores and online. For those who can’t make it to the store, donating is as easy as visiting Bealls’ Facebook page and “liking” the page. From now until Dec. 24, Bealls will make a donation of one dollar for every person who becomes a fan of their page. “Christmas is a time of joy and excitement, but many children don’t have the luxury of waking up to lots of gifts under the tree,” said Michael Glazer, President and CEO of Stage Stores Inc., the parent company of Bealls. “We believe partnership with Toys for Tots will provide a way for our customers to make Christmas a little bit brighter for less fortunate children.”Stage Stores will make two separate donations to Toys for Tots this holiday season. The company will donate at least $100,000 from the holiday bear sales, and up to $10,000 from the Facebook contest. The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
