BHS pair’s bid ends

SAN ANGELO — The Blackwell High School doubles team of Carola Savino and Cambrey Coulter won its first-round girls match at the Region II-1A tennis tournament 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 over Eula’s Melissa Clock and Megan Scott on Wednesday to reach the second round later that day, but was then eliminated by Comstock’s Taylor Tavano and Kaci White 6-4, 6-3.
Both Coulter and Savino were making their first appearance in the regional tennis tournament, which is being held at San Angelo’s Bentwood Country Club and ends today.
