Big league bass circuits headed to East Texas lakes in coming weeks

Major League Fishing is headed back to East Texas next spring — only the Bass Pro Tour is coming this time.
MLF is a popular, made-for-televison bass tournament series that made its debut in 2011 on the Outdoor Channel. MLF also airs on the World Fishing Network, CBS, CBS Sports Network and Discovery Channel.
The BPT is a new sister circuit to MLF that formed earlier this fall. It is built around 80 of the nation’s top bass pros who built their careers on the Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour before jumping ship to the BPT. It was arguably the largest mass exodus the sport has ever seen.
Organizers say the BPT will take pro bass fishing to the next level with smaller fields, enhanced pay days, utilization of a unique catch/weigh/release format and a rule structure based largely on angler input.
