A community-wide family event called Treatsville will be held at Broadway Baptist Church in Sweetwater on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:30 to 8 PM in the Family Center, located across the street from Sonic.
“It is such a blessing to be able to open our facilities so parents and children can have a fun place to be on Halloween,” said Dr. Chris Stephens, lead pastor at Broadway. “I want to encourage all who can to come out and enjoy a great family time of making memories.”
This annual fall event gives families the chance to celebrate Halloween in a safe environment. In the parking lot, a Trunk-or-Treat will take place where guests will receive goodies from church members. The Face Painting Group with Gospel Ministries to Children, based out of San Angelo, will also have a booth set up in the parking lot.
In addition, free carnival games will be held inside the facility. Church members will oversee various activities such as ring toss, bean bag toss, spinning wheel, mini golf, candy “Plinko”, fishing booth, duck pond, hoop shoot, and the “Treat Walk”. Prizes include two-liter drinks, individual-size treats, and plenty of candy.
Associate pastor Phillip Litton will take part in his first year of Treatsville upon joining the Broadway family in May of this year. He is eager to see the outreach of this event and stated, “I am so excited to be a part of a church that reaches out and loves our community. My family and I look forward to helping in this event.”
In its ninth year, Treatsville has become a community favorite for families who are dressed up and ready to celebrate Halloween. For more information, call 325-235-2730 or visit and RSVP to the Facebook event page: “Treatsville at Broadway Baptist”.
