City Council Meets in Special Meeting; Approves Resolutions, Tax Rate, Investment Policy

The City Council of the City of Sweetwater, met in special session on Tuesday, September 17, at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall, 200 E. 4th Street, Sweetwater.
At 9 a.m., there was a call to order by Mayor Jim McKenzie
An invocation was given by Jim Lee.
Father, we thank you for this day. Thank you for the hope that we have in Christ. It is in his love and his righteousness that we pray. He gives us hope for tomorrow and that tomorrow will be a better day. We ask you to direct our paths during this meeting and that we make decisions that are pleasing to you. We encourage every one of us to seek your righteousness and love in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Grant Cherry led all in the Pledges of Allegiance to the Flags of the United States of America and the State of Texas.
The Public Comments portion was opened, Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions: [At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on any matter, other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to exceed three minutes. No Council/Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law - GC, 551.042.} There were none and thus, closed.
