SWEETWATER — City
fire investigators are asking
for help in identifying
and locating three juvenile
boys who may have deliberately
set a building on
fire on Friday.
The boys were seen
exiting a vacant medical
building in the 1400
block of Hailey Street
sometime between noon
and 5:00 p.m., according
to a Sweetwater Fire
Department news report.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m.,
the Sweetwater Fire
Department received an
emergency call reporting
smoke coming from the
roof of the building.
When firefighters
arrived, they made entry
and quickly snuffed a
smoldering burn that
looked to be deliberately
set in a building closet in
an interior northwest hallway.
Firefighters kept the
closet fire from spreading
and salvaged the building,
said Fire Chief Grant
Madden.
A followup investigation
indicated a forced entry
had been made into the
building through a broken
door window, Madden
said.
If anyone has information
about the fire,
they should contact Fire
Marshal Richard Spradlin
at the Sweetwater fire station
at 325-235-4304, ext.
3.
