Flu shots are available at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD) on Wednesdays during regular immunization clinics. The cost is $25, Medicare Part B accepted. SNCHD has immunization clinic every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 1p.m. until 4:30p.m., on the second Wednesday of the month until 6 p.m. Children with no insurance, there is a $10 administration fee per a child, Medicaid, and CHIPS are accepted.
The SNCHD will be at the TSTC Health Fair on Tues., Oct. 10th from 10-1:30p.m., then Roscoe Community Center that afternoon from 2-4:30p.m. administering flu shots.
The SNCHD will close at 3:30 p.m. on Thurs., Oct 12th for training in Abilene.
Family Planning services available through Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department include pap smears, breasts exams, pregnancy testing, methods of birth control pills, depo provera (the shot), condoms, spermicides, IUDs (intrauterine device), Nuva Ring, Nexplanon (hormonal implant) and testing/treatment for STDs. Clients must be able to still have children. Clients must be uninsured (without private health insurance); we do accept Medicaid and the Healthy Texas Women’s Program. For adolescents/minors parental involvement is encouraged but parental consent is not required for Family Planning services. Hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:30 to 11:30 and 1:00 to 4:30. The health department is screening, testing and treating clients for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. HIV testing is available with clients referred elsewhere for treatment, if needed. Testing will be provided upon request if possible, otherwise an appointment will be scheduled. To obtain an appointment please call 325-235-5463 Monday-Thursday from 8:30-11:30 and 1-4:30.
