Highland girls 3rd at L-Avoca

The Highland girls basketball team won two of its three games to place third at the Lueders-Avoca tournament this past weekend.
Highland (2-5) began the event with a 57-31 win over host Lueders-Avoca.
Karlie Allen led the Lady Hornets with 11 points while Colby Robinson had nine, Zoe Cornett and London Garrett eight, Emilee Turner seven, Reann Robin-son six, Jolenn Wood four and Kamri Carper two.
But the team lost 60-45 to Hawley in its second game. Cornett had 12 points while Allen had nine, Reann Robinson six, Garrett and Turner five, Wood four and Colby Robinson and Maggie Bowen two apiece.
Highland came back to win its final game 49-33 vs. Vernon Northside.
Allen and Cornett led all Highland scorers with 13 points while Reann Robinson had 10 points.
Wood had four points, Carper and Turner three, Bowen two and Kendra Baucom one for the Lady Hornets.
