KTXS-TV first with local HD local news broadcasts

Bonten Media Group’s KTXS-TV (ABC) and KTXE-TV (ABC) became the first television stations in the Abilene-Sweetwater and San Angelo markets to broadcast local news in high definition (HD) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011.“Our viewers hold us to a higher standard and with KTXS News in High Definition, they will be very pleased with this tremendous upgrade to their viewing experience. KTXS has long been the innovator in the market and now joins an elite group of stations nationwide that broadcast news in HD. We are very excited about presenting local news in High Definition and adding the new TruVu MAX weather system, the most advanced system on the market today. Now viewers will be able to see the seven-minute StormTracker radar advantage that KTXS has in High Definition,” says Vice President and General Manager Kyle Krebs.For the upgrade to HD local news, the station chose Panasonic P2 HD field cameras and studio cameras.
