Seven high school girls and two high school boys from Nolan County have earned basketball recognition by Big Country Preps for their outstanding play.
Tavis Black is a starter on the girls second team after the 5-7 senior guard from Sweetwater averaged 20 points and 2.3 steals per game this past season.
Meanwhile, Roscoe and Blackwell each had three of their girls earn recognition and Highland and Roscoe each had one boy honored.
Senior guard Bonnie Wilkinson and freshman forward Shauna McCambridge earned honorable mention for Roscoe while junior Sadie McCambridge, who is Shauna’s sister, was selected to the All-BCP Gym Rat Team by her coach, Shella Arnwine, as one of the area’s best “team” players with traits of effort, discipline, toughness, coachability and selflessness.
Roscoe senior guard Caleb Gray and Highland senior guard Eli Sauer were given boys honorable mention from BCP.
Blackwell had three girls earn honorable mention — junior guard Madison Solis, sophomore guard Kiley Cummings and junior forward Emilee Sanderson.
