The regular season ends today in District 4-2A, D-II with a marquee matchup.
Roscoe and Hamlin meet at 7 p.m. today in Hamlin in a game that will determine the final seeding order for the playoffs that begin next week.
Hamlin currently leads the district with a 4-0 mark, while Roscoe is 3-1 and is currently tied for second place with Seagraves.
Hamlin clinches the top seed in the district with a win. But if Roscoe wins it creates at least a two-way and possibly three-way tie if Seagraves also wins today over Roby.
After starting the season 0-2, Hamlin (7-2 overall) has ripped off seven consecutive victories to take control of the district race. But three of the Pied Pipers’ four district wins have been by seven points or less, as well as four of the last five wins overall.
Roscoe, meanwhile, has won its three district games by at least 24 points though it lost to Seagraves 42-19.
A tiebreaker would have to go in effect if Roscoe, Seagraves and Hamlin end up in a three-way tie in order to decide district seeding. Hamlin beat Seagraves 34-28 in their matchup.
If Roby (1-3) is beaten by Seagraves and last-place Plains (0-4) beats Tahoka (1-3), a tiebreaker would be needed for the No. 4 berth.
