Roscoe plows over Menard

MENARD — Roscoe took a 26-0 halftime lead in beating Menard, 32-14, to end non-district football action on Friday.
Jayden Gonzales passed for 298 yards on 14-of-23 accuracy and three TDs, all in the first half. He completed two scoring passes to Micheal Wright and the other to Jose Ortega.
Roscoe also got rushing TDs from Nick Limones (9 rushes, 91 yards) and Francisco Garcia (8, 59) as the Plowboys improved to 3-2 overall.
Gonzales got the scoring started with a 71-yard throw to Ortega and followed it up with a 26-yard TD throw to Wright, as well as a 29-yard TD toss to Wright.
Ortega finished the game with three catches for 92 yards. Also, Brandon Lavalais had 4 catches for 73 yards, Clemente Aguayo 3 for 57, Wright 2 for 55 and Limones 2 for 21.
Gonzales also completed a 2-point throw to Lavalais after Roscoe’s third TD. The Plowboys had 456 total yards, including 158 yards rushing, as they ended a two-game losing skid. Also, the Roscoe defense limited Menard to 34 yards passing with just four completions, while both Aguayo and Wright came up with picks in the game.
Also on defense, Limones had eight tackles and one assist; Ortega had seven solo tackles and one assist; Aguayo had three solo tackles and two assists; and Parker Payne had two solo tackles and three assists.
