SEED goes LIVE with new website

Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) has a redesigned website that went live last Friday. The new website (with information still under construction) will better represent the community and SEED’s efforts in business expansion and retention. It is much easier to navigate, according to SEED staff members and allows the SEED staff to keep it updated in house. "The new website, along with social media connections, will assist us in making sure our community and our customers are aware of the progress Sweetwater is experiencing," said SEED Executive Director Ken Becker. "We have also added a special feature that allows Site Selectors and anyone else the option of building and printing a customized report of just the information you want. You no longer need to print out complete sections if you are looking for a smaller piece of information." SEED staff, by the direction of the Board of Directors, is taking a step outside the box and attempting to get ahead of the technology curve for economic development websites and marketing tools. A few of the marketing tools include SEED's social media accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. If you would like to be a part of the SEED family, you can find them on Facebook at Sweetwater Economic Development, LinkedIn at Ken Becker, and on Twitter @Sweetwater EDC. Kirstin Smith, Assistant Marketing Director, also suggests you check out the SEED blog at As Kirstin has stated many times, “the internet allows us to level the playing field by providing an easily accessible stream of information. We are no longer at as large of a disadvantage in competing against the larger communities. Communication goes both ways. If you know of development happening, send us a note so we can let everyone else in on the good news.""Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development is blessed to work in a community that gives us the tools to work with and where progress is an intentional act and not just something that happens by accident," says Becker. "As our slogan say, 'The Sweetest place in Texas for Business.'"
