Seth Mahaffey announces candidacy for Nolan County Commissioner - Precinct 2

Staff Writer

I would like to introduce myself to the people of Nolan County. I am Seth Mahaffey, born and raised in Sweetwater. After graduating high school in 2008, I attended Sul Ross on a full scholarship, studying animal science. At the conclusion of my studies, I returned to Sweetwater, and continued working for the family construction business, Mahaffey Construction and M&B Oilfield, working and traveling for some of the biggest corporations in the United States. I love to work and have been maintaining roadways and infrastructure, since an early age. I am also an active member of Bethel Assembly, located here in Sweetwater.
Over the past three years I have noticed that the County government has not been meeting the needs, for the people of Nolan County. I have also been attending Commissioner's Court for the past six months and have seen that the faith and trust in Precinct 2 has been lost. I want to see that faith and trust return to our County government.
When I am voted into office, my main concern will be the people of Nolan County. I will aggressively work on the unification of the commissioners, budget control, infrastructure, and the overall quality of life for the citizens of Nolan County. The future of Nolan County rests on its elected officials, and residents. I take this responsibility of service very seriously. I want the future to be bright for all who call Nolan County home. Nolan County has been, and always will be, home to me. I want it to be a place that, not only my son can grow to love, but a place that all citizens will love and call home.
I'm doing the best that I can to reach out to each resident of Precinct 2, through mail, social media, and walking door to door. Inevitably, I'll miss some of you.
