The road team won when Sweetwater and Snyder met in District 5-4A girls action earlier this year. Snyder won 46-43 at Sweetwater; the Lady Mustangs won 52-42 when they went to Snyder.
Today, they both hit the road by traveling to Anson to play a District 5-4A seeding tiebreaker at 6:30 p.m.
The two teams finished district at 5-3 and second in District 5-4A, but today’s game will break the deadlock and determine the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds going into the playoffs.
Sweetwater has won four of five since Snyder beat them on Jan. 11, and Sweetwater’s three losses in district play were by a total of nine points. First-place Greenwood won by three points both times the teams met — 54-51 at Greenwood and 45-42 at Sweetwater — in district play.
Today’s winner plays either Graham or Burkburnett out of 6-4A in the bi-district playoffs early next week.
Sweetwater’s boys (0-6) have two games left. They once again will try for their first district win when they go to San Angelo Lake View (2-4) for a 7:30 p.m. contest today. Lake View is currently tied with Big Spring for third place in 5-4A.
Snyder (7-0) has clinched the No. 1 seed.
