Sweetwater boys in 3rd place after 1st round of District 5-4A golf tourney

The Sweetwater No. 1 boys trail only two other teams following the end of the first round on Monday at the 54-hole District 5-4A golf tournament.
Big Spring (344) and Snyder (349) set the pace at Big Spring Country Club.
Sweetwater (382) will try to make up ground on the two leaders when it hosts the second round Monday, April 1 at the Sweetwater Country Club.
Greenwood No. 1 (391) and Greenwood No. 2 (414) are 4-5 in the standings and Sweetwater No. 2 (430) currently is in sixth place while Lake View (442) is seventh.
Talon Raley shot 89 for Sweetwater to rank seventh among medalists. Also on the No. 1 team are Harlie Sanders (93), tied for 12th; Chase Soles (98), 17th; Markus Meneses (102), who is 20th; and Collin Stafford (107), who is 27th.
Devon Ford shot 93 for Sweetwater No. 2 to tie for 12th among medalists. Also on the team are Danner Foust (110), Mason Wyrosdick (114) and Christian Molina (120).
After the second round in Sweetwater is completed next Monday, the third and final round will be held on April 8 at Midland Greenwood.
Sweetwater’s girls begin their District 5-4A tournament on Thursday — also at Big Spring.
