Sweetwater Resident Celebrates a Century of Life

Residents, Staff and family celebrated 100 Years with Sylvia Cox on December 8 at her residence of Nolan Nursing And Rehab.
Sylvia Lorene Walker was born December 10, 1918 to Nancy Elizabeth Johnson and George Walker in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
She graduated from White Bread School in 1935. Family recall the stories she would tell  of riding a horse to a one room school house where it was customary for the older children to help teach the younger ones.
  She married John Lewis Cox October 15, 1935 and they raised 5 children. Charlene Heath of Sweetwater , Ruth Dixon, Linda Dungan of Ft. Smith Arkansas. Jerry Cox of Cloudcroft New Mexico and Terry Cox of Waterford California. Sylvia had five sisters and two brothers. Ella Harris, Mae McCurley, Hazel Davidson, Lola Moody Thelma Flemning ,Eddie Reiser and JB Reiser.
    Sylvia spent her life on a farm up until 1964, so she was no stranger to working in the fields.
