Tenor Joseph Evans to perform at SMA October 7

Joseph Evans, renowned Tenor and Guest Artist for the APPLAUSE Series’ opening concert BROADWAY LIGHTS began his professional career in the field of musical theater,  Evans is now returning to musical theater once again.  During the interim, he was one of the opera stage’s most popular tenors.
Although he has performed throughout the world, in all the major concert halls and opera house, this will be Evans first performance in Sweetwater. “I am really looking forward to be there in Sweetwater. I saw photos of your beautiful Auditorium and I know that we are going to have a really good time.”  Evans was invited to SMA by his former colleague and good friend Mila Gibson. They had worked together in Houston. Later, when Gibson founded the Amarillo Opera she called on the “star tenor” to help the young company gain an international reputation.  Sweetwater pianist Martha Taylor will accompany Mr. Evans as she has most of the guest artists for the APPLAUSE SERIES.
BROADWAY LIGHTS will be at Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, October 7 at 7:30 pm. Tickets available and also are sold at the door. Student tickets will be able to purchase their tickets half-off with school I.D. The Auditorium is located at 400 Locust in Sweetwater.
