Trinity Baptist welcomes Dr. Ken Lyle, Sr. as interim pastor

The Trinity Baptist Church Family welcomes Dr. Ken Lyle, Sr. as Interim Pastor, effective Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. “Bro. Ken” was born in Houston. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Judy, for 56 years. The Lyles have four married children, Christine Waddail, Sandra Hammack, Dr. Ken Lyle, Jr. and Scott Lyle. They have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bro. Ken and Judy live in Abilene where they enjoy reading, writing and travel.Bro. Ken was educated at Mississippi College (BA degree), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry) and Georgetown College (Doctor of Divinity). An experienced Christian servant, Bro. Ken currently serves as a volunteer for First Baptist Church Abilene in the City Light Community Ministries. He has served as a church consultant, field supervisor at Logsdon Seminary, Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of New England and the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and has pastored churches in Georgia, New York and Mississippi and has served as Director of Missions as well as Associate Pastor and Youth Director in various cities. Bro. Ken also served in the U.S. Army for two years.Bro. Ken will serve in the capacity of Interim Pastor while the Pastor Search Committee fulfills their mission of finding a full-time pastor for Trinity. On being elected by the church membership, Bro. Ken had this to say about being selected as Interim Pastor, “I am blessed to join with Trinity Baptist Church in the quest to grow God’s kingdom locally and globally. I look forward to sharing God’s good news with the congregation and the community.”Trinity Baptist Church is located at the corner of Hailey and Santa Fe Streets here in Sweetwater. Service times include 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The church is a Southern Baptist church with both traditional and contemporary songs interwoven into their morning worship service. "Come join us as we serve a Risen Savior!"
