TSTC to host STEMsational summer camp

Sweetwater — Texas State Technical College is holding its annual STEMsational summer camp for students entering grades fourth through seventh on July 21-25, 2014. This year each day will have a theme: Medical Monday — Explore the world of nursing, emergency medical technicians and paramedics. Learn CPR and first aid. Learn to treat for shock and tips you can use in case you find yourself in an emergency. Transportation Tuesday — Students will learn how to inspect a vehicle for safety and change a tire. Explore how to paint a car and join in the fun as the automotive club holds a car wash! (Be sure to bring shorts and t-shirt for the car wash!) Robo Wednesday — Learn basic programming for Boebots. Use a little math and science for a day full of experiments. Check out the TSTC drone in action. IT Thursday — Tips about internet safety, the dos and don’ts of social media and how to protect you and your family online. Friendship Friday — End the week with crafts and teambuilding. Learn about self-esteem and bullying. Learn to embrace yourself and succeed. Choose to attend one day or the whole week. It’s up to you! The cost is $50 per day or $200 for the week.
