Laura loves the Sweetwater Mustangs, and you can find Laura at most every Sweetwater sporting event. She also loves to garden and be outside. Most people know that Laura hangs the streamers around town when the Sweetwater Mustangs are playing or participating in a sporting event, this is something she has done for over 20 years. Laura is a part of the Mustang Booster Club, and the Sweetwater Jaycee’s. She helps put on the Annual Rattlesnake Round-Up Snake Charmer Pageant. When asked what her favorite “Sweetwater memory” she said it was a tie between the Sweetwater Mustang State Championship Playoff game in 1985, and when Sweetwater got the All American City award in 1988.
“The reason i love living in Sweetwater are many. The small town atmosphere is one reason. It feels like everyone is invested in the town. People know their neighbors and volunteer to help someone in need. I felt this first hand when Derrick and I lost our house to a fire.
The support the community gives to the athletic teams is outstanding. There is always a strong fan base no matter the sport.
The shopping in town is varied. We have department store to home owned.
Sweetwater is a great community and that’s why I love it here!”
