Wilkinson wins bronze at final indoor meet at McMurry

Roscoe’s Lyndi Wilkinson was part of McMurry University’s bronze-winning 4x400 relay team at the National Christian College Athletic Association indoor championship meet held in Cedarville, Ohio.
Wilkinson and the other three McMurry runners had a time of 4:06.86 in what was the final meet of the indoor season for McMurry.
Wilkinson is a freshman at McMurry who competes in sprints and middle distance running. A four-year letterman in track while at Roscoe, she qualified for the regional meet all four years and was a state medalist in her freshman and senior years. As a freshman, she was a member of two state medal-winning relay teams and she won a state medal in the 800 run as a senior.

Leadership Academy
Michael Hunt of Sweetwater is a member of the McMurry Scholar-Athlete Leadership Academy (SALA) for 2017-18. In its second year, SALA includes 30 McMurry scholar-athletes who are being given a chance to accelerate and enhance their leadership potential.
Hunt is a sophomore member of the men’s golf team at McMurry. He was a four-year letterman at Sweetwater High School as well as a two-time district champion medalist in his junior and senior years. In addition, he was all-region and all-state second team as a junior and was chosen to the academic all-state first team during his senior year.
