Blackwell girls are 2-0 after 42-25 win

The Blackwell girls basketball team is now 2-0 after defeating Rotan 42-25 Tuesday. Kiley Cummings and Emilee Sanderson had 15 points each for the Lady Hornets, who led just 28-24 after three quarters before ending the game on a strong 14-1 run. Vickie Davis had five points, Madison Solis four, Carli Powers two and Jadyn Feitshans one.
Plowgirls lose opener
The Roscoe girls were defeated by Robert Lee, 39-31, to begin their season Tuesday. The Plowgirls trailed 11-8, 21-13 and 27-19 at the breaks. Jaci Alexander led Roscoe’s effort with 13 points, while Veronica Cuellar tossed in 10. Bonnie Wilkinson had four and Ainsleigh Nelson and Baylor Trevino two.
Lady Hornets fall to Wellman
The Highland girls (0-2) lost to Wellman-Union 42-38 on Tuesday. Zoe Cornutt paced the Lady Hornets with 11 while Kenady Hall and Karlie Allen had nine, Reann Robinson six and Kendra Baucom three. Highland led 13-4 after one quarter but fell behind 20-15 at halftime.
