Mustangs win 59-52 at C-City

COLORADO CITY — The Sweetwater boys, for the first time this season, have a winning streak as they go into the holiday break.
The Mustangs got their second straight victory on Wednesday, improving to 4-10 with a 59-52 win at Colorado City.
J.L. Solis had a team-high 20 points for Sweetwater, which led 13-11 at the end of one period, 27-21 at halftime and 41-33 at the end of three quarters of play. He had 10 points in the final period and hit 8-of-12 free throws to help the Mustangs hold off the Wolves.
Kaleb Hoover also made it into double figures for Sweetwater with 11 points, while Kobe Clark had nine, Kiante McCoy eight, Daniel Avila four, Tristan Morrow three and Jackson Foster and Tristan Longoria two as the Mustangs set a season high for points scored.
It was the second win in three days for Sweetwater, following a 52-43 win on Monday over Jim Ned. The team will go to Lubbock for the FiberMax Caprock Classic from Dec. 28-30. The JV boys also won on Wednesday, beating Colorado City’s JV 46-38.
