Armando Torres of Sweetwater has been recognized for having the KTXS Play of the Week. He had a first-half interception for the Mustangs in their 36-30 victory this past Friday over Midland Greenwood.

Sweetwater's volleyball team improved to 5-2 in district with a 3-0 match win at Levelland. The Lady Mustangs' scores were 25-22, 25-23 and 27-25.

The three Nolan County football teams outside Sweetwater all lost as Blackwell fell to Irion County 78-52, Highland lost to Water Valley 70-32 and Roscoe was defeated by Seagraves 32-6.

The Sweetwater football team takes a three-game winning streak and 3-1 record into Friday's District 1-4A, Division II opener at Snyder.

Roscoe is still looking for its first win after losing its road game at New Home 46-12.

The Blackwell Hornets got a big non-district road win, 56-8, at Brookesmith to improve to 3-2 this season.

Sweetwater, coming off a big 40-35 road win at Boerne, will face Clyde in its homecoming football game at Mustang Bowl.

Ayden Rosas is the Sweetwater Mustang Player of the Week after his outstanding play against Boerne in a 40-35 win.

After trailing state-ranked Boerne by a point at halftime, Sweetwater took charge in the third quarter and held on to defeat the No. 7 Greyhounds, 40-35, on the road Friday night.
